Look, there are any number of terms floating around now to describe the type of person who loves pumpkin and all things Fall, but I’m going to be a rebel here and call this tribe of (often) ladies simply Objectively Correct. Or maybe #ObjectivelyCorrect. Heck I’ll even settle for BASICally correct, if you catch my drift.
Now that that’s out of the way, welcome to the unequivocally best time to set foot into your local Trader Joe’s. I read the entire Fearless Flyer ad for this month cover to cover on my flight home and I STILL wasn’t fully prepared for the childlike glee that overtook me as I wandered the store (I did however stop myself from buying them out of every item labeled ‘pumpkin’ so that’s good at least). Here is my highly UNobjective list of what you should check out at TJ’s.
1. Harvest Blend Herbal Tea
The first time I tasted this I immediately turned to Mr Never Cooks and told him ‘This tastes like Fall in a cup.’ I then proceeded to hand every person who walked into my house a mug of this stuff for weeks and every last one of them agreed with that assessment. It’s caffeine-free, which makes it utterly perfect for enjoying in the chilly evenings while you’re watching Hocus Pocus at home.
2. Pumpkin Joe-Joe’s
I will admit that this is my first time trying these and I have deep, deep regrets about that. It truly saddens me that I can’t go back and make up for lost time with these awesome little bites of pure joy. I even have a surprisingly easy time sticking to just 2 a night, which is unheard of for desserts that I keep in my kitchen.
3. Pumpkin Spice Almond Milk
Okay, okay, so it’s technically called Almond Beverage, but that just sounds pretentious and less delicious than it actually is. This stuff is your Pumpkin Spice Latte dreams, and a little goes a long way. I’ve been putting a splash into my coffee in the mornings and I’m already dreading the days when it’s no longer on the shelves.
4. Apple Caramel & Pumpkin Yogurts
Okay yes, technically this is two things, but can you blame me? I’ve been topping my quinoa breakfast bars with these this week and they have seriously elevated my culinary experience.
5. Fall Zucchette Pasta
It’s pasta with squash in it that’s shaped like a pumpkin. Need I say more.
6. Canned Butternut Squash
Imagine for me, if you will, a fine squash pasta with an impossibly creamy butternut sauce. Maybe tossed with some tender chicken. Oh what’s that you say, it’s dairy free as well? And you didn’t lose a finger or have to raid your savings account buying the precut stuff trying to make it? Yeah, I’m sold (as you can see).
